Do I need to book an appointment?

You are more that welcome to come and browse our dresses at anytime, but to ensure that we have a consultant and changing room at your disposal we would prefer an appointment was made in advance if you wish to try gowns. You can do this by emailing info@serenitybrides.com or telephoning 01206 577756 and we will be happy to help. Should you arrive to the store without an appointment you will be seen on a first come first serve basis. Please be aware we ask that no photographs be taken in store and where possible you try not to bring children although we do appreciate this is not always possible.

How long should I allow for my appointment?

For first appointments to try wedding dresses we recommend you allow at least an hour. Bridesmaids appointments will vary depending on how many maids you have, please let us know how many girls you intend to bring when making the appointment.

When should I order my wedding dress?

For most styles in store, our order times are 6-8 months in advance, this is the time it takes from the day you order your dress, having your fittings carried out and your dress being ready for collection. However if your wedding is sooner, certain designers can offer ‘priority’ orders of 8-10 weeks for a surcharge. If you have less time than this, do not panic! Some of our designers have limited stock available for immediate delivery and we have been known to have gowns arrive in store within 3 days. We also have a range of discontinued styles that can be purchased ‘off the peg’.

When should I order my bridesmaid dresses?

Bridesmaid dresses typically take 12-16 weeks to arrive in store, a ‘priority order’ of 6-8weeks is available at an additional charge.

When do I pay for my dress?

At the time of ordering your dress a 50% deposit is required, the remaining balance is due on or before the first time you try your own dress.

My dress needs alterations, what happens next?

As dresses are ordered to a standard size, it is likely that most dresses will need some sort of alterations. Please ensure you bring your shoes and bra (if you are wearing one) to this appointment. If your dress requires alterations, we will always give the cost before the alterations are carried out. Alterations are charged only for the work that is done as opposed to set alterations packages, we feel that this works best as many brides find they only need a hem taken up especially if the dress has a corset back. Please note that alteration charges are not included in the price of your dress. You are not obliged to use our seamstress although we highly recommend her.

I am plus size, will my wedding dress/bridesmaids dresses cost more?

A weddings dress size 24 and above has a surcharge of £75 and bridesmaids size 24-30 have a surcharge of £35.
